¡@Angiosperms

Taiwan has around 3,600 angiosperm species, of which around 1,000 are endemic. The report published by the ROC Society for Wildlife and Nature (SWAN 1985) lists 329 rare species of angiosperms in Taiwan, of which 95 face destruction of their habitat or ecosystem, 40 are economic species which have suffered excessive harvesting or logging, and 244 have restricted distributions. Thirty species are endangered, including Alisma canaliculatum, Bretschneidera sinensis, Nuphar Shimadai and the Chinese fringe tree.
Currently TERSI is actively conducting a survey of angiosperms throughout Taiwan, and also plans to research the biology and rehabilitation of such endemic and rare angiosperms as the Kanehira azalea, the Yushan euonymus and Hygrophila pogonocalyx.
