In order to promote for all the citizens having a better understanding about the Mangrove Ecology Diversity and foster the concept of conservation, this institute will hold a Specific Exhibition of Mangrove Ecology Diversity--- A Green Forest on Tidal Zone from April 9 to November 30 at Conservation Education Center.With the presentation of ecology features, the vivid models and in accordance with the tour guides and play activities, it is expected that all people could be able to recognize the mangrove family species and the attached small animals.

Why we call mangrove as "Red-Wood Forest"? Since the body of the mangrove contains a lot of tannin, as the outer layer of tree is opened, the tannin will be oxygenated and make tree stem to be in red brown color, the outer layer of wood could be used as red-dyeing material. So we called "Red Wood Forest".Among the mangrove swamp, there lived a variety of Uca formosensis, "Tantu Fish" (Penoph cantonensis ), birds, shells---etc. and thus forms a specific ecology diversity of living world.

The main themes of this exhibition are as follows: "The Mangrove Family Species", "The Mangrove Plants in Taiwan", "Where is the Mangrove?", "The Mangrove Forms and Characteristics", "Ecology of Tidal Zone –The Often-seen Animals in Mangrove" and "The Nature's Gifts---Mangrove Functions"--etc.A series of activities will also be held such as lectures on Brief Introduction of Mangrove, the Crabs of Mangrove as well as Mangrove-Dyeing DIY, Mangrove Drugstore activities.

The mangrove is always grown up in some saline swamps such as river mouth, bay, lagoon---etc. where the tide change greatly.As we walk closely to the tidal zone in the beach and enjoy the beautiful green forest, we would find the birds, Uca formosensis, "Tantu Fish" (Penoph cantonensis ) and shell are waving hands to us.
